Our Roots: In Home Health Care

Founder and CEO Barry Shoor began helping seniors at home after receiving his BHSA from Florida International University in 1985. That was the year he opened Prime Care Health Agency, a Medicare-certified, Joint Commission–accredited Home Health Agency. Barry G. Shoor, CEO of Personal Response Corp. A recognized leader in the Home Health community, Barry was elected President of Associated Home Health Industries of Florida (AHHIF), the leading Home Care Trade Association for Home Health Agencies in Florida, where he served two consecutive terms. He has also served on the Board of the local Area Agency on Aging (AAA), and has volunteered on numerous committees and elder events.

In 1995, Prime Care began offering emergency response services in addition to home nursing. After serving his local communities for more than 20 years, in 2005 Barry left Prime Care so he could devote all his energy to Personal Response Corp. He wanted to provide the same quality and compassion that Prime Care is known for.
